Hi,

Some advice on electrical problems would be useful - i've got one of those strange issues which seem to happen on the Freelander all the time.

Recently i noticed that the right-hand lower rear light doesn't work, the warning buzzer that tells you the lights are on and also the right-hand brake light all don't work. I've tried changing the bulb as well as the holder (it was rather corroded) but that hasn't helped, and there is no 12V at the holder. I'm thinking that this could be related to poor earth for the rear of the car or maybe poor connections at the dash. Think i'll try tracing this back first but any advice on similar issues seen or a good place to start would be useful. :)

Isn't it funny how we have a Freelander and assume that everything is an issue - it dawned on me after a quick glance at the circuit diagrams that fuse 16 is common and the most likely cause was a blown fuse - of course it was that. Weird symptoms though, which i think is good as it means that if you see a range of symptoms it's easier to narrow it down. A case of me being pessimistic and actually the car was better than i expected.
