Stopping the bleep when L lock the car

Hi,
I have just bought a P38.
The car alarm bleeps when i lock the doors. V annoying!
Can this be turned off?
Is this anything to do with the bonnet open warning?
Also after 2 OS doors in oxford blue as well as a front bumper!

your alarm bleeps because of your bonnet open warning , untill you rectify this your alarm will continue to bleep, maybe the switch/ bonnet sensor is faulty or broken

Thanks for your help. I think I will disconect the sensor for now. Do you think that will do it?

it may not because it will leave an open circuit , ive never had to investigate this switch/sensor i dont think yuo will find it on the slam panel it must be on the hinges somewhere, im sure someone will step in with an answer

Took the 2 bolts out of the LH catch (as you face the car) and there was the offending switch dangling in mid air!
Too fiddly to re fir in the correct location so i taped it down. Problem solved!

It may be the confirmation beep. This can be turned off but you will need a Faultmate/Testbook etc.

As klf400 says its because your bonnet open warning.

The idea of the beep is to let the owner know that something is open[ie.doors,bonnet]
when you try to lock it.So a faulty switch or open circuit would be seen as open to the car.
