I have noticed that a lot of doors and bonnets are stolen or removed to gain access to the engine and cab to steal the landrover, so I have looked into buying security hinges, £700 for me plus potentially £400 for colour coordinated paint!! So I thought of alternatives, drill through a nut, screw onto the hinge bolt tight to the original nut then drill through the hole and through the bolt, push a split pin or an r pin through to secure it, you cannot undo the bolt, trust me, with the doors you have to remove the cards and drill through the existing nut before placing the split pin or r pin!!

But the door hinges are held to the bulkhead by captive nuts of a sort, so you can just do those instead?
The bonnet doesn't need any bolts removing to take off anyway? It just lifts off

Was thinking the same

How about one way turn bolts instead? You can tighten them but not undo them.

I filled the bolt holes in the hinges with black silicone.

Sounds like a waste of time, but it's surprisingly difficult to remove, in order to get to the bolts underneath. You'd think you could just ram a screwdriver in, but it doesn't work. Digging it out with a screwdriver or knife is also time consuming. Try it on one of your hinges. It's better than nothing.

The advantage is, that should you want to remove a door yourself for some reason, it is still possible.

I bet your warranty will love that

It doesn't affect it... Warranty is for electrical and mechanical stuff... I had to get permission off them to instal my own stereo so it wouldn't effect it!
