Morning all,

Woke up this morning to find my Defender has been pinched off my drive. Reg is R292 PAG, and it is mostly grey coloured. The back door was currently a nasty yellow filler-primer colour, awaiting me to finish repainting it. It's got a snorkel, alloys, and a snazzy galvanised tow hitch.

For those in the know, it has one of Pressbrake's rear crossmembers and front bumpers fitted.

Please keep an eye out for it - I'm gutted, as it's my pride and joy.

What security did you have on it?, this one is a bit to close to home for me, gutted for you. Ill keep my eyes peeled the bastards want shooting

Had an aftermarket alarm and immobiliser, but that's it. With hindsight I wish it'd had a bit more. Looks as though they've pushed it off the drive, judging by the footprints.

It's a 90, mostly grey, with white roof. Really annoyed about the whole thing, as I've kept ahead of the game on it mechanically, so it's had thousands spent on it over the last couple of years. But they're not things that necessarily add to the value (things like wheel bearings all around, new callipers, discs and pads all round, replaced springs and dampers, crossmember, new fuel tank, thorough waxoiling, soundproofing etc etc.

Mind you, could be worse - I was planning on fitting a galvanised bulkhead and repainting it next year, so at least it's saved me having to do that.

Sorry to hear about this, Gawd these people are a pain. We had ours stolen and are currently trawling the county looking for another. Like yourselves, we had just ( and I mean just) had the whole engine rebuilt at a cost of £5000. Luckily my husband is good at keeping receipts (unlike me, they usually end up collecting foot prints in my car) as so was able to put them under the insurers nose, it didnt get us what it would cost to replace her but it helped towards making him go away and rethinking the ridiculous offer they made.

Have you a picture? We will keep an eye out too on our travels. We aren't near, but as they say "have wheels will travel" and these thieves seem to be able to travel far in a very short time.

Again..Sorry to hear about it
