Still emobilized

Hi everyone having been unable to use my rangey for the last six weeks due to emobilizer and key fob issues I have bought a synchmate from eBay hoping it would sort it out
Plugged it in and got 1 red flash the took it out then back in got 5 red flashs
1 flash engine management did not respond to wake up
5 flashes becm communication failure
Also when synchmate is trying to communicate there's a clicking noise coming from dash is there any relays I should be check
2000 4.6 p38
Please help

Give the obd socket a spray with electrical contact cleaner and try socket in and out a few times my help, Do not use wd40.

make sure battery is fully charged,proberley, don"t need to tell you that,i expect you would do that anyway,good luck

Use your eka code first & get the vehicle mobilised, then use the sync-mate.

Wrong code or duff switches on the drivers door?

If you have engine immobilised press fob or enter EKA code on the message centre it has nothing to do the Syncmate. Syncmate is for syncing EMS code from engine ECU to BECM, it has nothing to do with locking fob syncing or EKA code.

Replaced door lock with used one but don't know if that was f!!ked
Going to test both locks with volt meter later and see if that's the cause

That's only on the diesels isn't it?

Here is @martyuk test procedure on door locks he can help you out with a refurbed one if needed.

Hi all
Finally got the rangey up and running disconnected all becm and door out station multiplugs and cleaned took apart original door lock and cleaned and regreased then tested and everything was ok tested eBay lock and it failed put everything back together reconnected battery then got key code lock out on dash put key in ignition and it resynched itself then she fired up happy days
