stereo questions

want to change the stereo in my 200 tdi, but of course the space to fit it isn't deep enough, has anyone found a way round this? have also been wondering where to mount a cb radio, there doesn't seem to be anywhere to put it ( neatly ) without it being in the way of something else

I put jvc unit straight it to my 300. I wouldn't of thought the size on a 300 and 200 were any different. I'm sure someone will prove me wrong!!

The only thing i had trouble with was all the wiring at the back, i had to jiggle the wires to get the unit right in.

correct me if i am wrong, i thought interior changed on 300 and for a 200 they sell an extension to hide the extra bit that shows

Yeah the interiors are different, i just ment the physical size of the hole for the unit, i couldn't see being any different.

Where have you seen these extensions?

Where can you get the extension piece and doesn't it get in the way of the heater controls

You can either pack up the center consol with washers to make the apature deeper or you can get a spacer collar off EBAY for a tenner which the security cage slides through, which in turn increase the apature depth by 13mm.

I did the latter and all is well!

There are other threads which discribe how to take out some of the soundproofing from the bottom of the apature!
