I am on a tool buying binge at the moment and thinking of a set of these bits. Had a look and some are cheap and some are “WTF”
Anyone use them and can recommend ??

Aldi £6.99 set of 3 for light gauge materials, they do a fine job for the price.
I just used one to step from 6mm to 12mm (6,8,10,12) in 2mm steel and the drill complained before the bit did.
No damage to the bit, but the drill ran out of puff. At that sort of price they are disposables really.

Yeah, very good for almost not quite the correct size holes ...

I use 'em a lot for general use, but for, for instance, rivets that need quite specific size holes, I use real sized drill bits.

It's rivnuts I was wanting it for. But maybe not ideal I think. I might just get the proper size bits for each size of rivnut.

Definitely, Rivnuts need the correct size hole, the stryations need to grip the material properly to work properly. Even a drill 0.1 too large will not make a good base.

Standard Bolts and nuts aren't too bothered and you can use a washer to spread the load somewhat.
