steering wheel

hi has any 1 changed a standard series steering wheel for disco steering wheel ? as i have just been offroading today first time ever and loved it apart fromt the steering wheel killed me grabbing it and its got some rough bits on it so woundering if it can be changed for the disco 1 cheers

i have a mountney steering wheel on my series 3

we did have a mountney but changed it back to an original!! find the larger wheel much easier to handle, almost like having power steering compared to the smaller mountney

Do you do have to be strongish to have a smaller wheel! Disco one won't fit - Different number of splines.

Apparently, you can use mini and some MG steering wheels. Should be cheap on ebay

You could always repair the orginal? Sand it down and use some filler on the ruff bit... Then use something like plastic dip?

you have to have arms like popeye to go laning with a mountney lol, poor hubs was kernackered

i had a mini steering wheel on my series3 many years ago. possibly metro etcetera

Morris Marina wheel is a straight fit, smaller than the landy wheel too.

unfortunately they are rare beasts

i have been laning and to pay n play with a mountney and 7.50R16 SAT tyres i never really found it a problem

hmm in fairness we did have the smaller tyres then 205's rather than the 235's we got now, i still prefer the big steering wheel tho lol, drove hubs car today and steering wheel felt tiny
