why would you want a bigger wheel ?
when i had me old series i fitted a lil tiny wheel to it and it was sh*t hot. way better than the big one and i found it easier to turn to.

Finer control of the steering and less concentration required I find.
I've been used to big steering wheels all my life as a wagon driver then a lorry driver then a trucker so I likes em BIG.
In the days of no power steering on trucks a big wheel was required, even then, standing up and pulling on the wheel with both hands was required in tight turns.
Just worried about the space between the wheel and the seat, spose I should measure it really.:)

so ya drove the atkinson in the picture you have then ? i bought an old wooden cab atkinson some years ago and was gonna rebuild it but ended up sellin it.
i was happy to see it last year at the cromford steam rally and the bloke who now owns it was jumpin for joy when i gave him the photos of it as it was being preped for the cutting torch ! i saved it i did :) he couldnt find anything out on its true history. he was even more happy when i gave him the origonal badge off the grill.
i got a pic of it some where on me computer ?

Not just me then:)

220 Cummins 9 speed Fuller box, vertical straight through muffler from a Mack, sounded like a diesel train. 70 mph and blowing black smoke:eek:
One of the first custom trucks in the seventies...happy days

Love to go round the shows and sit in an old atki and think of days gone by, more room in that ttruck than some of the new ones:D

i wuz gunno say, dnt most people go smaller...

Itll be ok for you, i rekon youll fit behind the wheel with most on. Doesn't yours have the standard landy bus wheel on though? if not, hang about an you can have mine im goin Mini soon :D

Want that sports one on, ...had it in the garage about twenty years and it needs a home, cant throw it away can I:)

too right you can't! Had that V8 long enough to want it shifted yet? :)

oh you can get the landy bosses on ebay for not that much money an all.
14.99 from Craddocks.:)

Thinking of what to do with the 440 V8 . if the gearbox comes next week I will assess how much money and work is involved to stuff it into the frogeyed sprite, and if the jag diff can handle 480 lbs ft of torque:eek: and 360 horse power ...
gonna be a hard decision:D
