What size is the stock steering wheel for my 1999 D90?

Wife wants to get me a steering wheel cover.:)

I have the larger steering wheel size, it feels like the wheel is not connected to the wheels! I know this is normal but if I put a smaller steering wheel on am I right in saying the force/steering will feel more attached to the wheels?

Possibly slightly, you may find it'll take a bit of getting used to and vague steering coupled with over reacting .................:rolly:

Are you sure though that there is no play in any of the steering components?
 
It appears there is no play at all, I checked that as one of the first things. It's just the steering is so so light, coupled with the fact that you turn the wheel an inch or two around and the wheel does move but not a great deal. Whereas I guess if you have a smaller steering wheel, you turn that a couple of inches around the outer circumference and it will turn the wheels a greater distance.

In answer to the above steering wheel cover problem, get your wife to do a search on ebay or similar for defender steering wheel cover. It will come up with roughly two different steering wheel cover sizes (for the bigger or smaller steering wheel.) There are some slight differences in size between the smaller steering wheels but the covers do stretch a few cm.

Then if she searches for defender steering wheel she may be able to pick out the look of yours which should also say its size in the add?

Yup it will.

I'm still going to stick with the standard one though I'm used to it.
I like driving with my elbow out of the window anyway. :D

Also gives more leaverage when driving off road. ;) :D :D

my landy came with small steering wheel.i found it hard to turn when off roadinf,so put the large one back on,prefer it more leverage,less effort
 
I don't suppose you want to sell your steering wheel do you? Your small one, if you still have it nunny.bdsc?

sorry i already gave it to someone as a freeby,last month,bludy typical ,ad av done same for you,i was never going to use it again so thought someone mite aswell get use out of it.
