steering wheel controls

well just fitting a new head unit in my 2000 p38, having rewired all the speakers new amps and all that i picked up a autolead kit to reuse the steering wheel controls but they dont work!!!!!

anyone had a simular problem ?? in the iso plug on the motor theres only 1 wire going to the converter box but the autolead kit has 2 in the iso plug !

so anyone shed any light on the matter ?????

Where did you buy that kit?

Nexxia stalk interfaceS PC99 (there's 2 pn) do not work with the P38.
I had a talk with technicals there and the guy who had the circuit to modify the PC99-30 left the company with those. :doh::doh:

mines the pc99-30 came straight from the maker in germany as nexxia didnt have stock ! nexxia advised me this was the right one for a p38 with the alpine stereo !

so someone must know how to or which one works ?????

10 new replacement speakers, 1 pair 3 way cross overs, 1 pair 2 way crossovers, custom made new sub box with 1 12"sub , 2 new proper amps, replacement 6.5" screen in place of sat nav, jvc dvd/cd head unit, full interia strip out and lots of 2.5mm good speaker cable from the amps to speakers, and a alpine satnav that also feeds the touch screen !

i got the impression you thought i had tryed to wire in a head unit to the oem **** thats fitted as a upgrade lol

I thought u had managed to find new door amps?!? Lol!

Where did u mount the amps? Also what speakers did u use? I done this install in my last P38 minus the amps. Had trouble finding a 3way component speaker set.

Why messing with rewiring when you can plug an interface box between factory plug and aftermarket headunit and be able to benefit your HK amps and speakers without a buzz or amp noise like the Nexxia PC3-09 **** of kit?

sorry but the quality of the hk amps and speakers ! i just dont do paper cone speakers enough by a long way, the alpine amps speakers and cross overs are miles better

Paper cone speakers aren't always crap. Did you know that exclusive sound systems like KLIPSCH have paper cone speakers?

Seriously how can a clever man think one second that some universal speakers can beat an army of sound engineers at Harman Kardon?:doh:

That setup from places of speakers to settings has been developped on the basis of sound studies in the P38 and not in few minutes on a kitchen sink or behind a computer during eat time.

but the proof is in the pudding as some say ! and it sounds miles better now, no distortion, nice clear sound and my head units far more adjustable than the alpine tape player that came out


but this is getting away from my post ! i need to know how to mod the pc99-30 box to work my controls ???????

someone on here must know ?
