Evenin all, I've just replaced my steering pump and damper cos they had packed in. The system was bled correctly and for a day it worked fine. The belt was slightly slack today so retensioned it correctly, the problem is if I'm not moving forward or back the steering is is really heavey (I know it wud be heavier but I shudnt av to swing on the wheel) like there is no PAS at all. What do u reccon's fcuked now?

increase engine revs if it then works pump is tired at guess

my bad for not reading completely,
if the box has a nipple on it then full lock and bleed then other lock and bleed.

had range rover classics that were right little buggers for air

If this doesn't cure it then as pump is new-I'd suspect the box is faulty

I did bleed it after doing the pump and again after driving a bit. With regards to the box, I have noticed a slight knock through the steering wheel, the damper is new aswel. (I havnt dun the drop arm ball joint yet though)

stupid question of the pump is a replacement then is the pulley the same, as it sounds like a pressure related issue.

The pully is the same one off the old one. That's what it feels like (no preassure) I have had to tighten the screw on the box to take out the play but not too tight though.
