Hi all,

Was out with the Mrs and the Disco started squeaking, (like a special stage rally car squeeks(same sound)) when i turn right only,

i have looked around the steering box and its bone dry all over but the steering arms on the drivers side are all wet and oilly, but it is a clear oil with a mineral smell not black oil colour.

Had a search around and a suggestion was a leaking damper but im not too sure, something is telling me its going to be expensive lol

Anyone and ideas as to what it could be,

Cheers peeps.

Breaks disks and calipers are new with no leaks, tyers are even worn and 30 psi both sides etc etc

I'd have to say the CV joint too, not a big job and relatively inexpensive if you're prepared to get your mits dirty!

You should get a good idea by jacking it up, one side at a time, turning the wheel and listening to the CV. I'd think only one side has gone so whichever sounds the worst is your culprit.

we tried this with mine, couldnt tell which side it was so took the whole axle apart in the end and rebuilt it

Talking to my mate the other day, he had same problem, changed both CV's, turned out to be the diff lock not disengaging properly, so it was in perm 4wd.

Fed Ex have just been with all my parts so, Track Rod Ends, Drag Link Ends, Stearing Damper, CV Joints, Shocks And Springs so busy busy:)

And Cheers bigrichsri, its not my diff lock as i have checked, i do know i have a track rod end and drag link end thats mullered both on same side which also has shot shocks so gunna redo it all and cv joints while im in there!

Just please remind me never to go looking for stuff under there again, what started as a cheap cv joint repair has cost a bloody fortune to get it so it's right! :)
