Hi there:D

My 87LR90 seems to have a small problem in its steering and I am not sure what it is.
It feels like a worn track rod end, but I have throughly checked the joints and there don't seem to be any play in em:confused:

When I go over 40mph It slightly steers on way or tuther and if I brake fairly heavy I can feel it steering ever so slightly.
Its not a huge 'wobble' only slight but I don't know what it is:confused:

I have some play in the steering box and think it may be that but I wonder if any one can offer any other possibles:D

Would a fekked steering damper cause some 'wandering' ?

I have new steering box ball joint and all new poly bushes on the radius arms and nuts are tight.
Also I have new anti roll bar (or whatever its called) Bushes.
Tyres are a good pressure.

:confused::confused:

sounds like your radius arm bushes are warn mate ( hockey sticks ) that would cause drift when accelerating and braking .

You will get some wobble with a feeked steering damper ( unbolt one end and push it in and out - if its dead easy = fooked if its feels stiff to move = ok .

I will double check the radius arms, I replaced all the bushes on them when I rebuilt landy. about 8 months ago

I will check the dampers resistance.

Think I have found the cause of my steering wander.
As Sypher said looked at the radius arms, they seemed ok.
Damper is ok:confused:

So I checked the panyard arms and found that the 3 nuts on both sides holding the triangle plate on were moving, slightly.
So attempted to tighten them up, and have discovered that the threads have stripped on either the bolt or nut giving a bit of play both sides and I assume steering slightly on the rear, that seems to fit as it feels like I have low tyre pressure in the rear. and the rear I swaying
So I am off now to but new bolts for it, and hopefully that will be sorted.
Will keep you(reader) posted:D:D

When you say steering box ball joint, do you mean the drop arm joint? If not, it might be worth checking that.

That is new also.

I have found out what it is though.
My trailing arm bushes are worn:doh:

Which is weird as they are not long new, I do have 2" lift and they are not cranked.

When I look at them it is almost like the M20 nut is not tightened up enough to squish the bushes, but I have tried on a windy gun and my 3/4 socket set and it is well tight, I have tried spacing with washers to push the big, round metal bush squasher in further, as I thought the thread had come to an end, but I just cannot squash them bushes up tight.

Does any of that make sense?

Think I need new bushes.:(
