Hi I am a new member and have a leaking steering box on my 110CSW.Is it a large job that can be tackled by a lay person?. Alternatively could any body recommend a specialist in the Heathrow area. Many thanks

Welcome to the forum Rob, what do you have in mind? Are you looking at replacing the seals in your leaking steering box or replacing the whole box with a recon one. The second is the more expensive but only needs to undo a handful of nuts and bolts and getting the pitman arm off can be a bit cheeky but certainly do-able for most people in a couple of hours, personally I've never rebuilt a box so couldn't advise but do a search in the defender section as I'm sure others have

I did the seals on mine last week, The arm came off easily with help of a Pitman arm puller off Ebay £9.95. If you get the puller off Ebay make sure you buy the one with 33mm throat. get Corteco seals £5.95.
