steering box oil seal

the lower oil seal on steering box is leaking how easy is it to replace the oil seal or is it better to buy a recon box ?

Not difficult at all to replace seals on the output shaft, it's removing the drop arm that can be an issue.
Maybe better to get a recon but some have been known to fail and leak after a few months even though the item may be under a warranty it still has to be removed and retuned to the supplier, much better to buy a new box I think..

i had mine replace an as soon as i got off my path it popped again. hoping i can just push it back in.

but if you gunna hold out for a while before you buy a new box, put steering fluid in the oil reservoir. the seals will swell. stopped my leak for about a month
