How much oil does a standard Series 3 steering box hold?

The manual doesn't list it.

Don't know capacity. Don't you just fill it till it runs out of the filler hole?

Can't be much more than 1L, you are right, its not detailed in the service manual, as suggested just fill till it runs oot.

I did this last weekend. It turned out to be about 500ml.

They obviously missed it when they wrote the manual.
