Steering ball joint

Hi folks,

As I look under the 90 from the front the ball joint right at the front on the left for the steering rack seems shot. The gaiter is split and I can rock the rack backwards and forwards, I am guessing this is the slight knockin I am getting through the steering wheel.

I have a ball joint remover. Is this simple enough the change? What is the name/number of the ball joint?

Easy enough but the top cup is an absolute bastard to get out. There's loads of info and Buster has done a Busers Manwell on it, but i know i have started at least 2 freds on the troubles i had while i was doing it - which ended up in getting the arm off abd replacing it due to the cup removal woes!

Cool thanks. So this replaces the joint. The arm looks good so guess its just the joint.

Buster gave up trying to remove the top cup and replaced the drop arm instead.
I managed to get the top cup out of mine by using a deep 17mm socket on a long extension bar and hammerin the fook out of it from above (whilst supporting the drop arm with a bottle jack).

It depends how worn your top cup is.
