I'm not special I'm limited edition
I currently have a 1997 defender 110 300tdi with a van body. I am very happy with the vehicle mechanically but I need to be able to seat 5 people and still have secure storage. Has anyone here converted a 110 hard top to a atation wagon. I am looking to find the rough cost of and the amount of time needed to complete this job. Am I better off selling what I have and buying one or converting mine over?

Cheers guys

you need quite a lot of bits - really a case of replacing everything from the bulkhead backwards except the front doors, back door and roof - unless it's a magnificent steed with sentimental value it'll not be financially viable...

saying that - foley specialist vehicles and some salvage folk occassionally have complete station wagon bodies for sale, fully built up - if you bought that and craned it on complete it would be quite straight forward.

I got 2 landy breakers not too far down the road. I was figuring that If I sold my current steed I would probably only get around £4500. If I wanted to by a csw the same sort of age then I am looking at about £7000 upwards.
