I just acquired a Defender 2011, that I will receive in a few days more.

My user name is Ostra, I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, just in front of the Sugar Loaf.

I am almost a newcamer to this world: several years ago I had a Jeep 1966, and a Toyota Bandeirantes, assembled in Brazil, but...never nothing like "The Legend", a brand new Defender!

I will have a thousand doubts and hope to have your patience and help.

First of them: The Riser or Snorkel is a trust help in deep wathers, or its purpose is to capture air for the motor far from the dust in very dusty soils?

I will wit for the kindness of an answer, because I am right now working on a list of accessories I will equip my new L110!!!

Stay well, live well.

Tks, Buckshot!

We have frequently heavy rains around here...I will spend the money for a Snorkel!!!

Great hint, landy1UK! It make me read many articles in the WEB and I am thinking in connecting with hoses all the breathers - gear boxes & difs - ending in only one, going inside the snorkel till the top of it! What about it?
