Morning All,
New to this page & looking for some help!
Have had issues with my 2006 Freelander TD4 for last 3 months, every now & then when I start, it will start but judders & cuts out - doesn't matter how much you attempt to rev or put foot on clutch it still cuts out. Have had the following done by a local garage: new glow plugs, new battery, egr valve replaced, new fuel pump. Have gone to collect it today after having a new fuel pump & it's still doing it - any advice or experience with this???
Thanks in advance
Daz

When you say you have had the fuel pump replaced? which one? the High Pressure unit bolted onto the engine above the alternator, or one of the electrical pumps at the rear of the car.??

about the 'maf' sensor :

check the condition of the fuel-rail-sensor plug / socket
give it a clean .. smear some contralube-770 on the connector pins
( suggestion: do same for all other engine sensors / injector wiring plugs
( any wiring connections outside the cab / earth points .. etc

The fuel pump that was replaced cost £112 & also a fuel filter at £20 - not sure which pump, I'm guessing the one at the back but will be checking with the garage.
Many Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for taking the time to post the links - i'll be following instructions & giving a good clean this weekend, thanks again.

Try replacing the fuel pressure sensor and wiring harness.

I had a similar problem. Replaced 4 injectors, the fuel pump, the fuel filter and the maf sensor.
Would have saved a lot of money if I had done this first.

Does it start ok straight away afterwards? Cleaned the connection to the fuel preassure sensor on my 06 TD4 and stopped using supermarket diesel. - hasn't done it since.
