Probaly a daft question guys but, when I start my landy it takes ages for it to start and feel as if im going to flood the engine, as it takes around twenty secs or so before it fire up, and then it seems to only run on a few cylinders for a few seconds before it coughs into life.
Its an 1987 2.5 petrol running on LPG, and runs very well and all service parts have been replaced within the last 1000 miles.
Is it because I run on LPG, but start her on petrol and it takeas a while for the fuel to come through. It starts first time when the engine is warm Cheers

If you are going to start it on petrol then practice STOPPING it on petrol!

This would leave the carb(s) filled with fuel, and it would probably fire up nicely.

Getting the carb wetted with petrol regularly will help to keep it in good order.

my bosses V8 130 runs on LPG, and he starts and stops it on LPG, never runs it on unleaded. apparantly it needs retuning as it wont run on petrol at all, its too lumpy.
