starter solenoid

the solenoid on my 109 v8 is u/s.the solenoid is piggy-backed to the starter,if i use a series solenoid mounted remotely will it be o.k.?,i see no reason why not but wondered if the series solenoid is man enough.

no cos the series sarter int pre-engage so will not throw yer starter into mesh. take it off and clean the contacts before yer do owt else

If yer do change it, the top bolt can be a pig to get out, you need a long socket extension & even then it's a sod to get at.

If you do replace it it is pricey, but waaaaay worth it. My V turns over like a fekin jet injun now! The new units are also much smaller so it's a piece of **** to get the new one on.

& if yer rilly worried about yer nails wear inspection gloves or scratch yer nails down a bar of soap furst.
