yes you can get an overdrive for it, i have no idea of mpg as i don't own a stagey

you might find it better to fit an lpg kit

Yeah i know they sound well but i won't be getting one just for the sound as i am more of a diesel man, the thing with a gas conversion is it can cost just as much as a tdi conversion and it won't be too long till gas costs as much as petrol and plus its another tank to fill up.

i am just trying to work out which way to go, tdi for economy plus a bit of power, stage 1 as you will more or less have the same power as a tdi but heavyer on petrol, i don't really want to go for a 2.25 petrol as they are even heavyer on petrol than a V8 stage 1 but would consider one if i decide to go tdi, a 2.25 diesel would give my decent economy but would be too gutless for what i want it for.

the more i think about it a tdi conversion would be more expensive to do now from when i did my last one at £1000 inc buying the engine for £275 so thinking a stage 1 would save me a lot of messing about and allow me to drive it instead of spending a lot of time converting it to tdi.

what do ou think :)

2.25 or 2.5 petrol arent lean running engines but v8 will beat them in supping the fuel, stage 1 has an lt 95 gear box ,high gears in t.box are changeable a choice of 4 fromm rrc ,overdrives are available but not really easy to find now ,what do you mean by stage one as it has a lot of differences to std 109 not least engine position

if i had a stage one thats what it would stay as a rare classic vehicle , if i had a std series it would either have tdi or 2.5 petrol ,the latter just bolts in as 2.25 only needing later exhaust modding to fit
