SRS light suddenly stays on no faults showing on reader

Hi
Freelander 2004 TD4 SRS light suddenly came on and stayed on have read
to see if any faults none showing have checked all connections under seats and driver airbag all seem ok light still on so assume problem with ECU.
Looking at other threads says to cut carpet to replace, where exactly any help would be grateful

Only a land rover equipped machine will read the airbags

What code reader are you using? The airbag ecu is right at the back of the dash area on the transmission tunnel.

its a AUTEL its cleared the light before when I changed a seat and disconnected the pre tensioners.
I am happy if you think its not capable

I think a hawkey or definatley the landrover test book will turn light off. If you fix fault it does not auto reset.I suspected the pre tensioner on mine and bought a pair of seconds on ebay for £26. Took car to local landrover and when they found which one I plugged the new one in and left dangling while he reset light. Cost me £35 to turn off light.
Don't know if any other readers can turn srs light off though.
