Just don't do that on the later ones with factory sat nav, as it can kill the drive. The later owners manuals say to leave them 2 minutes until the light on the navigation drive has gone out, otherwise it can cause issues if it is still writing to the memory. Which I guess is probably what had happened to mine in the past as when I first used it, the last location was always the same and it even though it says it would save a new address, on next power up it would show the same details as before.
