Hi all I have a srs light comes on after about 20 minutes driving. if i switch the ignition off then restart it goes off and returns after about 20 mins. Will the fault be stored so that it can be identified by a garage or do I need to take it in when the fault is showing. This has only happened after taking the battery off to attend to the blend motor on drivers side

If yours is a '99 does it have airbags in the seat? Might be worth checking the connector under the seat if so (yellow connector). Connections may be loose especially if you have been moving the seat back fully to get at the blend motors?

No doubt a fault will be logged!

If you had to take the instrument binnacle out.....check the yellow SRS connector that plugs into it!...

If yours is post 99 with side Air Bags, check the under seat yellow connectors too!

yes ,thanks its a 99 2.5DSE ,it may have side airbags ,i will check and look for those connectors. Am I right in thinking that the wiring for the airbag circuits are in yellow sleeving.

Hi ,just checked and it does have side airbags. Do I need to diconnect battery before disconnecting connectors and using contact cleaner on them or will it be ok if ignition off? thanks

YES

Remove ignition key, disconnect battery and wait 10 minutes before doing any work on airbag systems
