Morning,

I'm looking at buying a stainless braided brake hose kit. They seem to make two, one "normal" length and another with an extra 40mm length to each hose.

Does anyone know why you might want the longer version?

There's a place that does hydraulic hoses the other side of Aylesbury if you are coming up. Might be cheaper to get them to knock one up based on the old one?

Longer ones are for lifting vehicle height 3 or more inches on a P38. At that height you will need other bits like spacers for the shaft angles, a ladder to get in and a parachute to get out.

I'm at +2" and the standard pipes reach fine although you have to wiggle them bit to adjust when lifted or there won't be enough play in them

Braided hoses are believed to have better protection and retain pressure better under stress.
This depends on quality though, cheap ones wrapped in aluminium foil may look pretty but will not out perform OE, OE with extra braiding would

If the chassis becomes grounded and all traction is lost. The EAS will first of all drop to access height to try and compress the snag, then it will go to extra extended height, 2.75 inches higher than wade mode. To try and regain traction.
Well, every day is a school day! Had no idea about that but probably explains how I was stuck last year in Czech and then for no apparent reason away she went. Cheers @wammers

Is this why I have a constant light on dash of an orange P38 with an arrow underneath since lifting it?

Comes on as bulb check with starter and goes out as engine starts. Also comes on when high is selected and goes out when achieved. Also when extra extended is automatically selected by ECU for grounded chassis. Can also indicate a fault in EAS. If you have fitted coils and lifted car i would say there is a really big fault with EAS. What do you think? There should be lead fitted to blank EAS operation if you have ruined your car with coils. .

Sensors and ecu under passenger seat are still there. I've Wired under driver seat which brings up EAS manual and stops beeping/35mph max. As mentioned 'arrow under truck' light on dash constant, the fairy lights all blink for a while then remain all lit.

Eas ecu must be having a fit, think I will try disconnect it under passenger seat? Don't see why it would be relevant anymore
