Come to think of it though, the tube into which the plastic cylinder
slides on mine is stainless steel and rust free. Have Mantec stopped
using stainless for the sliding cylinder housing?
However, if it squeaks, I would suspect it's not staying in alignment
as the door swings open.
I suggest slackening off(but not removing) the nut securing the
plastic cylinder to the frame, and then open and close the door
slowly, watching to see if the bolt moves within it's slot. If it
does, then the door hinge axis, and the carrier hinge axis are not
parallel. Mine was initially like this when I first fitted it.
Deciding which axis to move, and in which direction, I obtained an
extra spacer for the lower mounting from Mantec. Problem solved!
