right, just a quick one,

are disco diesle springs heavier duty than the RR V8 spring on the front condisering the tdi lump is heavier, the RR we have put the 4.0 strait 6 D in is saggin now we have took it off the jig as we have had to move the chassis about and was wondering if the disco springs would take the weight before i shell out for 2+ heavy duty's designed for a winch and bumper to take the weight. :D

ok, will have my disco springs spare soon, but is this definatly gonna stop the front end from saggin about 2 inch as thats how much its nearly dropped with this new engine in??

Dunno.....

Whats the weight of standard tdi and the weight of the straight 6 lump you are dropping in....if they are similar, there should not be sagging....if the straight 6 lump is heavier, you may need a higher spring rate springs drop in...

Standard V8 RR front spring is 133lb, rear is 150lb....I am running 180lb front now with winch at front and 230lb at rear to compensatefor weight of lpg tank....not sure of diesel disco's standard spring rate at front.....can check on the rave ..;)

the toyota engine is about twice as heavy, going of my exact measurement of, it takes 2 to lift the tdi's and 4 to lift the toyota hehe!

In that case, you'll definitelt need heavy duty springs, probably +2" as well.....

try RR rear springs first (150lb), if height not ideal, try adding 2" wood block at the bottom as 150lb springs + 2" spring block is approximately the same height as heavy duty front springs at 180lb. if still not ideal, use heavu duty rear springs at 230lb....
