Hey up.

Do any of you know how many springs there should be holding the rear shoes together on my 90. I've got two, one joining the two shoes at the bottom, and one at the top pulling the front shoe to a peg on the brake plate.

The thing is one one side the rear shoe doesn't return very well and occasionally sticks to the drum.

Haynes are somewhat vague on the subject.

4 possible causes.
shoe sticking onto backplate. remove, clean, and grease metal to metal contact with copaslip.
spring US. fit a new one.
spring in the wrong position. replace in the correct position.
wheel cylinder piston sticking. replace.

enjoy your pint of old peculiar.

Oakey doakey ta.

I think changing the back axle to convert it to disc brakes has worked itself to the top off the things to do list this summer.

Anyone got any non run of the mill advice on what to look out for?

I can do non-run of the mill...

Get a lump hammer and flatten the drums - then get sum kallipers and fit the panty pads in the kallipers. Im shure they will make the same diffrence as the drums do now.

Yo sayin that the facelift has gonnen got put down yor list??:D
