Well this morning I got an email to say new chassis will be here on the 23rd of this month

I'm thinking about spray painting it black, for a number of reasons I guess.
Work have said I can use their spare compressor, but as I've never sprayed before
I have no.idea ref setup, what paint to use or gun etc

I.understand I.will have to T wash it before I can paint it
Then acid etch primer

Any advice would be much appreciated
As this is something id really like to try

Do you need to etch primer the chassis after T washing it as i was thinking of just spraying / hand painting the chassis with a good quality gloss black paint, Dulux or what ever :)

Yes I would say etch primer after it has been T washed
thought about painting it, but really fancy having a go a spraying it
and thought best thing to learn on :D

I think there was a thread on here a while ago about what paint gun to buy.

I would like to give painting a go aswell, but just don't have the confidence.

I wasn't sure if you could get away with just etch primering without the T wash, but thought I would make sure the paint stayed on and do it properly.

Spraying the chassis is a good idea though, was a right pain to get everywhere with a brush.

Hi

It's not hard to spray if you use a HVLP spray gun you can spray with a low pressure and provided you mix the paint right it will not run. Some of the 2 pack systems are the best but you need to use a mask! I use an Iwata w400 but they are expensive. If you google low cost HVLP spray guns you may get some advise on one that will do the job less the £50. When you get the gun try it out first on some scrap with cheap red oxide.
