Is it snake oil ?

used one on an old beetle....made no difference at all

They were being pushed in the '70s, if they were as good as being claimed they'd be standard fitment by now!

Snake oil. Do nothing that a new condensor and a properly adjusted set of points wouldn't do.

It's a resistor and a gap. Probably all of 10 pence to make.

Forget it. Both will show up any weaknesses in your system at the worst possible moment ... like when it's raining, towing a trailer, cold and dark ..... and suddenly you get this terrible misfiring .....
