Spike Traps – The Old Marlborough Coach Road (Salisbury Plain).
We’ve been forwarded this post which suggests that spike traps have once again been found on a byway open to all traffic in Wiltshire. We reported that a similar device had been found on Tilshead 6 in February - an action so robustly condemned by the general public that we had hoped for it to be punitive. Sadly, this has not been the case.
Although crude, the trap viable and could cause serious injury to pedestrians, horses and dogs – all of which are known to enjoy the public rights of way within the Bulford ranges. The inconvenience of a flat tyre to a cyclist or motorist is negligible in comparison.
Please share this post with anyone who might use the rights of way around Tidworth and Bulford in the hope that our vigilance can prevent a tragedy.
