My speedo isn't working, and I thought I had nothing more to do than fit a new cable, as it was broken at the speedometer end. However, having fitted a new cable, it still isn't working. Turning my attention to the transfer box end, it would appear the problem is the output drive in the box, the wee square socket appears to be split. My question is, whats involved in changing this?

Its a Disco 200tdi gear and transfer box in a Defender. Thanks.

the cast housing it sits in should prise out of speedo housing ,if not you will have to unbolt speedo housing and lever out from the inside
