Hello all - spent this afternoon cleaning up the Speedo from our 2A and I'm looking for the various rubber bits that have inevitably perished. I've got some o-ring cord, but things like the rubber grommets around the warning light tubes and the rubber gasket in the back of the housing are not generic.

Does anyone know of anywhere that sells these kinds of bits, either separately or as a rebuild kit? I'll have the gauges to do next so will likely need some other bits too.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
There is a guy on eBay that sells refurb kits, comes with new glass, rubber seals and new bezel (chrome or black) sorry I can't recall his name, I'm sure you'll find him with a search.
Hope that helps

I kept my eye open for the rubber boots that seal light transfer between warning lights and gauge back light. No luck I'm afraid. I only needed one but ended up making it out of rubber tubing.

Just to round this one off - I ended up using some rubber grommets on the light tubes, which fit quite well and have given a good seal. On the back of the speedo I had to use 3 grommets where the rubber gasket was - I had to modify one of the grommets quite heavily to make it fit the speedo drive, which I'm not happy with but is 'functional' and won't be seen by many.

Photos attached of the finished product - much cleaner than when it came out!

PS for sealing the gauges/dial housings I ended up with nitrile o-ring cord off eBay. 2.2mm for the bezel to glass seal, and 1.5mm between glass and speedo 'ring' (can't think of the proper name).
