I'm just sorting out a few things on the landy (SIIA) and have a prob with speedo which fluctuates up and down a lot when driving. It seems to get worse the faster I drive. Any ideas? Is this likely to be a cable or the speedo itself at fault? Also it doesn't seem too accurate but I put that down to the age!

Cheers

Take speedo cable off back of speedo head.

Take the inner out of the outer - pull the square end out --- miles of it.

If it comes out in one piece wipe it clean with some kero on a rag.
It it doesn't come out in one piece buy a new speedo cable.

Lightly oil it with engine oil.

Feed it back in. Twiddle it till it engages at the bottom end.

Refit cable to speedo.

Take her out for a romantic drive to see if she wavers this time.

Fuel gauge on mine dosent move untill youve stopped and switched ignition off. Then restart and the fuel gauge reads ok untill you stop and thats when you realise how little fuel you got left.
