Spare wheel

Hi all

Thanks for welcoming me here. I have just bought a 2013 Freelander 2 HSE. I'm pretty sure when I looked at the car it had a spare wheel in the boot. When I drove it away after buying it, I found instead one of those foam inserts with some tyre weld in, but nothing else.

The dealer says he's emailed the supplying dealer and it didn't come with a spare wheel. Now I'm prepared to accept I may of imagined the spare wheel in the boot, but what I don't understand is why there is no jack or brace or tow hook in the insert? Dealer says it doesn't come with these things but how or earth are you supposed to deal with a flat, or is it that you can't/shouldn't ???

Great the modern cost cutting isnt it

Why would you need a jack at the side of the road you have no tyre blow it up with the magic aerosol and drive to kwik fit ( or whoever) they have jacks

Anyway hope you enjoy it loads of Hippo help available here

Just had another look - just a pot of tyre weld in the boot, so seems I may be missing some bits ie something to inflate the tyre after weld.

Ps and thankyou for the welcome @brianp38dse. I'm looking forward to be part of the landy community

Oh I thought it was one of them magic tins with air in.

probably best ask in here what you are supposed to have and if not the best option.

New Freelander 2's don't come with a spare wheel/tires. 50% of new vehicles are hired or leased. So not everyone wants the eggstra cost. So they don't fit them and reduce the price to make them more competitive. If yer want one when buying new, then it's ordered at the same time.

You won't have a tow hook in the boot. They're fitted permanently front and rear already. The front one is under the removable plastic cover, center lower bit. There should be a yellow miss fuel reset tool. A bottle of tire slime and an electric pump. No jack as standard. There should be a locking wheel nut key.
