Need to know if a standard odb/usb cable which i already have connects with EAS, I have searched but there are that many posts on EAS its a minefield.
Also is EAS free suite compatible with Windows 8 ?

Thanks in advance and i am expecting a few rants about searching before asking.

Hi the rsw free eas suite will work on windows 8 the cable i belive is different, try and see, if it not pm datatek on here, he can supply you with one that will:)

I'm pretty sure your standard OBD cable will not work, no harm in trying though. The EAS software runs on Win 8, the only problem is likely to be with the USB to serial adaptor you will need.

Thanks Keith, my old cable was ODB to USB without the serial connector, if i have time i would have bought a cable from you but i need one quickly so have ordered one to arrive tomorrow.
Fully tested the EAS yesterday before i bought the car, up, down, up,down drove it to get it to cruising height, all worked perfectly, then drove 250 miles home and it was faultless.
Got in it this morning to come to work, hit the dual carriage way and instead of settling at cruising height, yes Beep Beep EAS fault !
To be honest i think its a calibration issue as i noticed the NS front went high when it started this morning, maybe outside the upper parameter?

If the error is "Pressure signal constantly High" suspect the driver pack. I have a fix for that problem that has passed testing so far.:)
I don't care where folks buy from, I make little or nothing out of the cables, I do it as a service.

Well, i got half way home before it dropped to its knees!
You get some funny looks bouncing along don't you :)

For reference a standard OBD USB cable allows EAS unlock to read information such as faults, setting and heights but will not allow any of the functionality so i was unable to test the system or unlock.
MY trusty schrader valves are now fitted and i'm all pumped up till the correct lead arrives tomorrow.

A plethora of faults were stored so dont know where to start looking but most of them seem associated with the valve block?
I cant seem to upload a screen print and i'm not typing them all out but some are.
F8-8 hidden
RL signal incorrect
f8-32 hidden
engine speed fault
pressure signal constantly low
air supply fault
air supply leak
target heights incorrect
cannot lower FR
cannot lower RR
FR RR FL valves all stuck open
inlet valve stuck open
exhaust valve stuck open
RL valve stuck closed

To name a few !

The air pump was cold so that hadn't been running at all, checked all relays and fuses.

On the plus side having it pumped up on the shraders overnight can be a pressure loss exercise for the bags and pipes, i've taken measurements and will compare in the morning.

Bad comms with unit that is just a list of available faults.

Ah See that's why people rely on info from people who know thief stuff, so a standard ODB cable seems like it's working but doesn't, the right cable should be Here tomorrow so I can diagnose correctly then report back.

Pump will not run when in hard fault mode and as Wammers said you just have a list of available faults. You must get the Green Good Idle button to show you have communication.
