Sorry if this is a newbie question

I've noticed the tdci rear tub sits behind the mounts on the rear cross member but the old ones sit in front of the cross member mounts? Why is this and can I mount my 300tdi tub the same as a tdci or will it throw my door gaps etc out?

I think he's saying they're either made one way or the other so it's not a choice.
