eight, am i right in assuming he is selling you a ball bearing to put in the pipe ?????????

I'm not selling it  , I just wanted to know whether anyone had experience of it! :)

tonyw in this case you might aswell just pull off the electrical connection and the vacuum hose, this is a load of junk.

Doing anything that disables the EGR will keep things things a lot cleaner indeed. I was horrified what I found in my intercooler pipe and manifold last week. A litre of kero soon fixes it, and the performance difference was noticible.

Forgeting our recent friendly banter about Egr, I feel the need to point out that if you found crap in your intercooler,it is not your Egr that is causing it.Two things will cause this, first a shagged turbo, second is crankcase compression pushing oil out of the breather into the inlet. The oily deposits just make it easier for Egr particles to stick to the sides.
Have another look in your intercooler in a while, think you'll find its getting dirty again.
