Snigger, I'm a clumsy oaf

So two nights worth of updates in one hit here

Masked off the open areas to stop the outside paint going in



Two coats of primer







Then tonight was a quick wet and dry sand down then the top coat. First light mist coat



Second light mist



Third



Wet coat number one



Then after the second wet coat, how it stands currently, I have not bothered with the roof as that is going black

looks very nice! can't wait to see it finished.

Got a reasonable amount done tonight, first up was the roof, masked off

followed by wet coats

Painted some of the details black as they are on my 1:1 hinges etc





Made up the two headlight plastic surrounds



Drilled two holes for the 3mm sidelight LEDs



Stuck the surrounds on





Tinted the rear windows



Then set about the arches of which I have finished 2 of the 4, started off with the fine line masking tape



then normal masking tape



Sprayed up

Superb!

how come you fine mist with a dry coat first?

Find it sticks better

I picked up my kit at 09:00 yesterday, got the rolling chassis done last night.

Managed to put the rear axle on upsidedown!

And i bought a 1:10 Hi-Lift jack at about half the dollar of a 1:1 one!

lol I think I did the upside down thing but noticed pretty quickly

I only noticed when i turned the main gear and the front and back wheel hubs turned in opposite directions!

Please post a detailed shot of the underside of the front axle, the servo arm and connection to the steering. The supplied steering servo of mine has a very crappy looking arm, and I'm not happy with the way it connects.

Another dumb question - What if you don't fill the shocks with oil? Is there anything I can substitute for 'shock oil'?

I think they work without, veg oil seems a similar consistency but I think the silicon nature of the proper stuff is good for lubrication etc. Its cheap off ebay though, I used 30wt

New tyres turned up, slightly smaller and tread pattern almost identical to my 1:1
