rito,
jus noticed, after havin my 300tdi 90 back from passin its mot and a bit of other work that there seems to b soemthin drippin on't me clutch pedal. its not a lot jus a few drops but enuf to notice. wat th fook cud it be?I only recently (5 months ago) had me clutch master and slave replaced, d'ya rekon it cud b one of 'em is shot already!!??shud the pedal (arm??) be a bit oily anyway as normal practise or shud it be bone dry?

please dont let this b another expensive repair grumble grumble
fookin landy

chances are that it's the clutch master - if you fitted a cheap one it could well have failed allready - clean all the fluid up and keep an eye on where it's coming from

everything is done up tight right ?

list us a few things to check are tite would ya sean, i'l go and check 'em.

its a bloody mess this fookin landy!shud have got a series for a 5th the cost of this fookin one! ah well live and learn.

the pipe that comes out of the top of the master and the cap

also see if there are any small splits in the clutch pipe

but you'd be much better off just cleaning all of the fluid and then watching for a drip when you depress the pedal a few times

but then the MOT man might have split his tea and your seeing the residue

yeah doin as ur advised, pipe and cap seem ok.

whenever u decide to sell ur series, let me know!;)

if i pump th clutch, and nowt fluid drips, can that rule anythin major out (a very general point I know I know!!) jus stuck a bit o paper under pedal, and 1 lil drip mark is on it. took the pedal rubber cover off and that had some fluid in it, ya know, in the 'lip'

well thats easy and cheap to fix

easy-not sure bout that!!cheap-depends how badly I fook up!!

i was temtped to get me mechanic to do it, but considerin he said, part would be £50 and an hours labour, I rekon I cud give it a go!master looks pretty easy accessible, easier than the slave(?).rekon if it takes a kiddie an hour, if I put the weekend aside rekon I cud get it done!!!!

disclaimer:never done anythin mechanically minded before, but ya only learn by tryin!

not sure where its leakin from, not TOTALLY sure where to look.

Land Rover Series 3 90 110 Clutch master cylinder on eBay, also, Land Rover, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 28-Jul-08 14:16:21 BST)

it's just nuts and bolts - and some clutch fluid - and a couple of hours of yer time

i'ma gonna give it a go!ur pretty keen on gettin people to get stuck in on their landys aint ya sean. good on ya

cos the brake master is in that same general area hence me trying to get to to clearly indentify where the drip was coming from

why wood it be brake fluid?(complete novice by the by!)

Coz both the clutch and brake use brake fluid, but if it aint brake fluid then its something else thats dripping, and no point ripping out the masters is there.

Go and find out what it is, compare it with the fluid in the master cylinders, by smell or taste.
