Some buggers stolen me landy!!

You will find that the police that had collared the thief are as ****ed off as you, all the work that had been done by them is now wasted because the CPS are not prepared to prosecute as there is not 100% proof about the parts being yours. Your word against theirs is not enough in court with some of the lawyers today.
At the end of the day it is all down to court costs. However the guy is now a marked man, and the police will be watching whatever he does from now on.

What world do you live in??? The police won't give a **** and apart from the guys name going on their "system" He won't get any more notice than he did before the arrest. The chances of this been his first offence are very slim. so he was probably Known to them before he stole the 90.

I had a SRI nicked a few years ago and, after telling me to collect it, the Police told me they knew who'd nicked it because they punched a "tag" into the seat with a screwdriver.

"So you have arrested them?"
"Not that simple sir"
"But you know who they are?"
"Not that simple really"
"Why? you know who they are."
"We need proof"
"You have it, the tag."
"Not that simple sir."
"#### off!"

On retrieval day, a few of us, sporting tapered pieces of lacquered ash used in popular American ball games........

"Will there be a police presence on site when I collet?" Says I.
"No" says the officer" "just move the vehicle because its obstructing a thoroughfare"
"OK, what do I do if the thieving bastards are with the car?"
"Walk past and notify us sir"
"Can you arrange for an ambulance to be at the scene please officer, as I will not be held for mine or my companions actions?"

I got a bloody over the phone caution...................

Police ain't bothered mate.
 
Just smack them.

My landy is blocked in and cctv-any **** I'll just smack them.

Hi all,

Not meaning to thread-jack but I can totally empathise with the OP and yourself Grunger. As well as my Series I've got a 1968 Beetle - cracking car - but some lowlife local scumbag decided to get his kicks by smashing the windscreen. As I'm sure you can imagine, finding a replacement wasn't exactly easy! I knew who it was... He barely bothered to hide the fact he was responsible, but he was too young for me to deal with so I approached his older brother (who was a lot closer to my age) and made it crystal clear in the most menacing fashion I could that I would hold him (the older one) responsible for any further actions of his younger brother... (all seems above board and legal to me!) ;)

Anyway, that resulted in my being hauled off to the police station for some questions and ultimately a caution.. :eek:

Jokers... And they wonder why people take the law into their own hands!

Local thief even told me he would steal stuff off my Disco days before he actually did. It was in a securely gated gully at rear of the house as it was sorn and I was welding in new inner wings, which I'd just finished doing.Unfortunately said thief also shares access , living in the adjoining road.Known him for years, thought I'd be safe as he always said it with a grin "you know I'll do it" he'd say. Broke in to Disco, stole whole wing with snorkel on, winch bumper and even had time to remove the lift kit !! Strange how nobody saw him doing it.Every time I was out there working on it you could guarantee at least 3 people would pass, parking their cars in their garages.
Anyway, informed the police. Took them 6 weeks to arrest him and check his 2 lock-ups. Nothing found, no surprise there. A week after that the gippo down the road, had all my nicked stuff on his Range Rover. Another call to police - they went round and took a good look round his Rangey. Informed me that even though I could describe parts - yellow overspray on some, that I could not prove they were mine. The smug grin every time he passed me .......... But police warned if I approached the guy then I would face arrest !! That was 5 years ago.I'm still biding my time. He has a 2004 Rangey now.It might get damaged......who knows. I do know 1 thing...........if it's damaged it won't be me that did it.
 
RB - has to be the old oily rag engine fire stunt - stuffed good an proper up in the engine round the area of some belts - it might get caught up and catch light of it may just do enough damage to cost the bastid a few quid in repairs.

Am sorry u but wow ! I would 1 rather be knocking him the fu*k out or 2 robing all the parts off it putting it back on mine then illd set his rr on fire

That green Landy looks bloody familiar - rear wheel cover and all. I think it would be a bit brazen to keep it all complete and drive it around Oxford though. I will keep my eye out.
