Hello there,

I picked my series 3 up Sunday after a week of waiting to pick it up.

The drive home of 70 miles went quite well (A24/M25/M4), apart from the drums brakes and crunching of the gears.. (Never driven a series before and haven't driven a manual for over a year.) I have to say that driving it sure is "interesting". Got it up to 56mph on the motorway though! (GPS verified, the speedo doesn't work...)

It has some rust that needs sorting and I think the petrol tank has a very slow leak :/ Or at least you get a petrolly whiff in the cab/standing next to the drivers door and I'm pretty sure there was some fuel on the road this morning after leaving it over the road.

I will have a more mechanically minded person give it a going over.

I also had some fun with the locks, trying to show it off to my bosses (stopped by the office in Maidenhead on the way home) only to have the locks playing silly and not unlocking.. New ones I think.. that and the front sliding windows don't lock.. :/

I have always wanted a series 3, but had to get a "sensible" car for my first car (Peugeot 1007), this will be a fun car/rolling restoration/learn more about mechanics.

Anyway there are some pics here - net398r - Imgur and I registered the domain to go with the number plate! - Dave

Now to just add a radio/speakers as well all the other things it needs... at least the insurance is cheap..

It will be an adventure into the unknown!!

:welcome:Ooooooooooh, very nice, I wouldn't worry about the radio, you won't hear it..............until ya stop. :D
