anyhoo's sorted me friggin indicators, turns out the german nichtwerfen unit was taking 12v's off the heater/fan supply and was connected up to the half the indicators and the horn, if i switched the fan on, pulled out the hazard warning light button and pushed the horn it beeped on and off........

so i've ripped out all the pish and have 3 separate systems now!

as soon as i looked at the component i thought "flasher relay"

I hate gits who do MAD wiring stuff to cars then sell it without updated documentation. I've been fixing up cars for me and sale for years now, started on hot hatches like XR2s, etc, moved on to rangie classics and vintage cars. I have seen some truely hateful wiring, particularly in my S3when i got it. In fact i got mine cheap because it had electrical faults and the owner couldnt figure out his OWN wiring anymore. Now I actually trained as an electronic/computer engineer at college, cars are a hobby/thing on the side, And I couldn't figure it out either - probably cuz a lot of it was wired wrongly, with wires of diff colours spliced in at various places... The original, 34yr old wiring was pretty knackered anyway so..

I just ripped the lot out and started again with a new loom. Which i then went and customised, a lot

But at least i did a diagram of the new wiring (my S3 has more toys than an '07 defender :D:D)
