To be honest, by the time you need a snorkel, it will probably be the least of your worries, the P38 is NOT designed for any sort of deep wading, just ask Troggy!

A snorkel has a lot of other benefits apart from wading. You car breathes much cleaner air and also cooler. I never take mine through water.

All my details are in my profile if you want to contact me.

Hi.

I think I stuffed something up with the pics I wanted to send to you. Google came back with some excuse for not delivering.

Maybe your mail client blocked it? If you don'y get the mail with the pics, Skype me.

Hi Troggy. Sorry about that. I lost the e-mail adress and needed to send Andrew some pics of the snorkel. So I posted the thread so he can contact me again.

You are against wading with a P38, but what do you do if you come across a river or a swamp and need to cross? Sometimes you just have to get your car wet.

I totally agree Karel, to be honest if you look closely at the photo, it was very much my own fault. Check the door seals on the driver door, I'm used to off roading an old Series that I really didnt mind a bit of footwell water and didnt think to check the obvious on the Rangie.

That said, even if the door seal was perfect - they ain't water proof and as you say should only go wading in a necessity as apposed to doing it for fun.

Quite a few weeks on from the incident I still don't have a working car, currently trying to narrow down a fault where diags can't communicate with anything except Body Control and Air Suspension - quite annoying as my gearbox is stuck in limp mode and we don't know what the fault is!
