Hi There!

Noticed earlier on that there is a rip in the corrugated rubber bend connector piece that connects the piece attached to the wing to the vertical pipe piece.

Its a mantec type snorkel. What would the corrugated rubber bend piece be called, and can they be purchased on their own? And, where from?

Thanks guys!

Don't know the answer to your question but if you cant get one, you might be able to just get a piece of silicone hose of the correct diameter and use that.

You know the kind of coloured universal hoses they sell to boy racers to make their engine bays look pretty.

I thought they would sell spares, as it can obviously easily be damaged green laning. Can't find any for sale anywhere.

Have you actually contacted Mantec and asked them about availability of spares? Many firms don't list spares separately on their websites, they sell them but you have to ask.

Ooooo that might work.
I found this : CLICK

That may work?

Wasn't exactly what I was thinking of but certainly looks like similar stuff to what the original ones are made of. The only word of caution I'd add though is you have to make sure you get a good airtight seal. I know the safari ones are constructed with rubber end pieces on and are all sealed at manufacture. The big rubber ends make it easy to get a good seal onto the pipe or spigot thing you're clamping to. If it's just cut off hose, you need to ensure it's sealed really well. Maybe a couple of big jubilee clips at eand end and a good bit of silicone sealant.

But as the others have suggested you should be able to get spare parts from the manufacturer, just might cost a bit more is all.

I think this was more the kind of thing I had in mind.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-1-2-63mm-ID...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4388e1027a

and a couple of

ACE T-BOLT HOSE CLIP CLAMP 60mm to 63mm SILICONE HOSE on eBay (end time 10-Mar-11 15:49:55 GMT)

and some sealant of course.

Not sure how plyable it is though, I.e. if you have any bends to do, and how fiddly it will be to get in place. I guess a bowl of warm water would help.

I know on my Safari jobbie on my 300TDi defender the host part was 'almost' straight, so I reckon this would be a good replacement if I ever have to replace mine and couldnt get the right part.

Check the diameter though. I haven't.

Cheers guys. Ill try alan from overlanders, see if they have them.
I also like the idea of the straight silicone piece, as they should be pretty hard wearing and seem quite thick.
