Hello guys,

Ok im a relative novice when it comes to discos.

I pulled up the handbrake on my 96' 300TDi Disco to hear a big snap.

I have peeled back the gaitor to reveal the mechanism, I can actually see where the cable had snapped just down from the circlip.

As I say I have no knowledge of discos so any advice on what parts I need and how to go about changing it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

ATB

Mike

It should be as simple as withdrawing the old cable, feeding the new one in "might be a pain" attaching to the lever and the other side. Check it's free to move and gives you the right amount of play.

But I might be wrong I have never done one........
Have you used the search feature above?

cheers Stu, I thought that too but wondered if there where any words of wisdom from the more experienced members? ;)

I tried to search but could find little or nothing.

remove window switch panel remove clip underneath lever push cable thru hole ,remove rear prop ,rear drum 4 x 15mm headed bolts the you can swap cable about £12 from bearmach

Have just walked in from the garage havign done this job on my 300tdi Defender,
part cost me £13 took me about 1hr.

Having never done it before.
