Hi there all. New to site. Have a Rangerover with a 300tdi (disco version) in it. I've had it for 2yrs with no issues. I was on a 4hr drive home a couple of weeks ago and had to pull over as a plume of smoke suddenly appeared out of the exhaust. Honestly thought it was on fire to begin with. Anyway ive changed the gasket on the engine oil sump and the filter however ive now found a bit of oil in the intake pipe going to the turbo. I can drive the car under 2000 revs all day long but any higher than that and she starts to smoke again.

What sort of smoke are we talking about?

Plumes of black?

Blue smoke?

White/grey smoke?

Different smoke means different things, it can be turbo seals if there is a lot of oil in the intake, fuel pump issues from boosting/over boost, has the timing belt slipped a tooth?

Unfortunately iam away at work at the mo so I can't tell you exactly. I'll be home in just over 2 weeks so I'll try again then.
Thanks for getting back.
Michael
